Well, everyone was born atheist until their parents teach them their religion. What I mean is most of them fail to realize that we atheist were born into Christian homes or other religions. We already know all about the Bible. We went to church. We read the Bible. We heard the Bible read to us and the words turned several different ways for the same passages. We're smart enough to know you can't just cherry pick what sounds good, and just ignore the horrifying part. I mean there are some straight up horrifying, disgusting, vile things and acts in the Bible. If some of the words are God's words, they're all God's words even the vile disgusting ones.
They want to say we're mad at God. Or we hate God. But no we're not mad nor do we hate God. We can't hate or be mad at something that isn't real. It's like being a sane 30 year old person getting mad at Santa Claus for not bringing them what they wanted for Christmas.
They also want to call us devil worshipers. Well, we don't believe in your Sky daddy, we don't believe in your ground demon mole either.
They want to act like us atheist are horrible people. Criminals, heathens, etc. Some say we should even be killed. Most of us are good, caring, loving people wiyh morals. Noyt much different from religious people except we don't believe in God and don't need the promise of Heaven to have morals, to be good people, and do good deeds.
Myself personally, I took the good out of the Bible and left the bad and the imaginary people behind. I do charity without telling people. Without needing praise for it. A dog rescue that I work with, after a little while of working with them. The head woman and I were discussing their Facebook page and I told her that administrate three pages and that I could help with theirs. When she asked what kind of pages, I told her they were anti religion pages. She was sort of flabbergasted. She was fine with it. I think it was the whole myth that atheist are bad people/don't have morals.
It's time atheist isn't a dirty word. It's time we can say "I'm an atheist " or "I don't believe in god" without fear. Without the fear of ridicule, losing our friends, losing our families, losing our jobs, having people plan scared of us.
We are good people. Main difference is we believe in ONE less God than you do, out of the thousands.
