Based on a true story through Henri Young, an inmate on Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, who attempted to escape Alcatraz in 1938 with three other inmates, including the infamous Arthur 'Doc' Barker, but was caught and sent to rehabilitation in solitary confinement. After spending three years in the hole, Young is sent back to normal prison, only to get revenge on Rufus Mccain, an inmate who tried to escape Alcatraz with Young, only to betray and turn him in. Then in June 1941, Young murdered McCain and was put on trial for first-degree murder. Then, James Stamphill, a San Francisco public defender, is appointed as Young's lawyer, and attempts to defend Young by explaining the brutal and harsh system of Alcatraz that has dehumanized Young. ...read more
