A little glimpse into the shaping bay with @joelfitz_boards who I’d met in Bali through my @driftersurf family years ago.
.
Joel is an amazing dad, incredible surfer, frother and good human.
.
This was such a nice morning surf.
I’ve been lucky enough to be surfing a few of Joel’s boards both in Indo and Aus, and the Dreamcatcher twinnie is honestly one of the nicest feeling boards I’ve ever had.
.
Slow shaping - making a board from scratch - is an incredibly intricate process.
And one that I have a lot of respect for.
A true form of expression.
Art in itself.

this lockdown has given me time. and I can’t lie that having time has been like one of those deep breaths that give you goosebumps and smiles.
my to do list was no not up to date. there were so many thing that had to be done - but simply there was no time for them. now that I have some time, I touching them and I it feels like am swimming with each of those itens in a delicious flow.
one of them was selecting the best photos of the last photoshoots I did in the last months to update my website. and then -why not to do a reel with some of them, as this is another thing that has been in my not-done-to-do-list? :)
.
.
:) @olivianachle ...read more

Part 4
The outer reaches of the Great Barrier Reef.
.
So much life and colour.
An underwater world completely of its own.
.
We dove as long and often as we could.
We saw the most incredible pinnacles, at depth swimming beside these giants felt like being on the edge of the earth.
Towering rock cities with thriving populations of all sorts of the most wonderful fish.
The most intricate coral formations home to tiny creatures going about their secret lives.
.
We battled currents and took gambles on finding moorings and making tides.
.
We saw sharks, giant turtles, manta rays, dolphins.
You just didn’t know what would be waiting for you beneath the surface.
.
Our little sail boat so far removed from the safety of the shore.
It felt like a real adventure. You know the story book kind. We had just the right conditions to make it. And we went for it last minute.
The stars aligned.
Tide, time, clarity, wind.
.
We spent the night out there, with nothing but a bit of rope tied to a precarious mooring and the uninvited gusts of a northerly that started to howl out of no where.
From what I heard it was a rough night.
I managed to stay asleep through most of it.
.
We had a good laugh the next day.
Davo the captain seemed a little sleepy eyed.
But he said he’d been through far worse.
.
The sea is unpredictable.
She has many secrets.
And when we dive we start to listen to her stories.
And when we sail we get to know her moods.
We get to be humbled.
Held.

Part 3
Setting Sail.
.
I’ve dreamt about seeing the world from this vantage point, from the day my dad first took us out on his small cat long ago.
It felt like an eternity him and my young brothers struggled to lift the mast, to get the thing in the water and to set the sails.
My little legs were running about uselessly.
I didn’t want to come sailing ever again.
.
But when we eventually got her going.
I can still remember exactly.
That feeling.
We caught the breeze, or it caught us rather.
I lay hanging from the side, fingers running through the water, wind whipping through my hair, a smile as wide as this little mouth would hold.
.
Pure freedom.
I thought.
.
This recent trip has a special place in my heart.
At a time when that very ideal, is a seemingly untouchable thing for many of us.
Freedom of choice, of perspective, of the way we use our time, and thoughts, on the other hand.
Is always there.
And maybe that makes all the difference.
If we let it.
